DESKTOP CENTRAL UEM EDITION
The UEM Edition is basically a new licensing model in addition to the Professional,
Enterprise and Free Editions that we already have in Desktop Central.
UEM Edition = DC Features + MDM + Modern Management for Windows 10 + OSD
The UEM Edition offers proven Desktop Central features, MDM, Modern Management
for Windows 10 and OSD - all under one single license, without having to purchase
those functionalities as separate add-ons, thus simplifying the otherwise complex
licensing model.
Modern Management
The Modern Management capability enables customers to achieve MDM-like functions
for all devices running Windows 10 including:
●Silent installation and uninstallation of Windows Store Apps;
●Performing profile distribution including distributing wifi, email and VPN profiles
over-the-air;
●Applying security commands like corporate and complete wipe;
●Geotracking;
●Applying kiosk mode (which comes in handy especially in case of digital
signage).
SPECIFIC INSTANCES WHERE YOU COULD PITCH THE DESKTOP
CENTRAL UEM EDITION
1. Need to manage desktops and mobiles simultaneously
When an organization needs to manage a diverse set of endpoints including both
desktops and mobile devices, you can ask the customer to consider the UEM edition,
instead of purchasing the MDM add-on separately. This is especially useful when the
organization is looking to introduce mobility or expand it. The firm can simply unenroll
some of their legacy systems and instead enroll those many mobile devices, without
causing any complications in licensing.
2. Organization wants to manage a Windows 10 Fleet
You can also pitch it when an organization wants to manage a fleet of Windows 10
laptops. They can avail all the Modern Management capabilities listed above using the
UEM edition.
3. Organization has Legacy Systems in addition to other devices
In cases where the organization has to manage legacy systems in addition to other
device-types, the Desktop Central UEM edition should be the ideal choice as we
evolved from a CMT vendor to a UEM solution. Hence, we have very strong capabilities
when it comes to Patch Managment, Software Deployment and Remote Control for
legacy PCs compared to other vendors in the market who evolved from being Mobile
Device Management vendors to UEM.
4. Need for OS Imaging and Deployment in addition to DeviceManagement
It's best to pitch the UEM edition when the organization needs to perform OS Imaging
and Deployment in addition to Device Management.
